Simply go to the “Sign up to Play” tab HERE and fill out the google form. This lets us know your general availability, so when we do our monthly scheduling with facilities, we can optimize the performance dates. Then, go to the Unison link HERE which shows you every event we have for that month. This page updates frequently, with new events popping up all the time. EXISTING EVENTS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN CREATED WILL NEVER BE REMOVED.

Nope, all we ask is that you do two things at the end of each performance:
VOLUNTEER VERIFICATION
Please fill out the volunteer verification google form before you leave. (30 seconds)
STAFF VERIFICATION
Please show a faculty/staff member the staff verification QR code before you leave.
Both of these items will be texted to you before you arrive at the facility via automated SMS along with exact instructions to make the volunteering experience as simple and easy as possible.

Two reasons. First, here at Caring with Keys we respect that while volunteers are altruistic, they are still entitled to express the amount of volunteer hours they accumulate with the organization on a resume. As an organization, we count and tally every single volunteer hour performed by every single volunteer. Without volunteer verification forms, we would have no way of keeping track.
The second is due to organization wide data. For Caring with Keys to run smoothly, we need data from our performances to make sure performances are happening where they are planned to happen, for the scheduled duration, and at the correct time. This information elevates our quality as a volunteering organization as well as our integrity to provide meaningful performances.

Caring with Keys recognizes that new members should not be required to walk into a new facility alone with no knowledge of what to expect. This is why debut performances are restricted to Eboard members only. A new volunteer will never play at a facility that has never hosted another Caring with Keys member. (of course, there are exceptions to this rule when volunteers request to perform at a nursing home of which they have previously performed) With this rule in place, any irregularities can be ironed out by organization leadership before a new volunteer performs.
In other words, you will always volunteer at a facility where the staff expects your arrival and guides you appropriately. If this does not happen, call 586-980-2868. (President, introduce yourself as [YOUR NAME] from Caring with Keys and explain the issue.)

Yes! Go to “contact Us” at the bottom of the homepage and type the facility you would like to see on our schedule along with a short explanation of how you came across it.

Of course! Keep in mind that as this organization continues to grow, responses may slow. However, we would be more than happy to accommodate one’s schedule to add additional performances. Simply go to “Contact Us” at the bottom of the homepage and type the time you would like to perform.
As a side note, this feature might be taken away as this organization matures. Please do not abuse this, as this is intended for volunteers who are completely unavailable for every single possible scheduled date but still want to volunteer. -
Nope! Caring with Keys welcomes students from any college to bring the joy of music to senior living communities!
