Christian Cummings

Founder - President

Hi, I’m Christian, a pre med student at Oakland University and the founder of Caring with Keys. I started this organization after working as an EMT, where many of my calls involved transferring patients from nursing facilities to hospitals. In many of these facilities, I noticed something striking, a piano sitting quietly in the corner. Whenever I see a piano, I feel excited because it means I can brighten someone’s day through music. But during my shifts, that excitement often turned into something heavier. I would walk past those pianos while transporting a resident, often someone well known and deeply cared for by others, knowing the instrument would remain unplayed and the room would sit in silence. After speaking with fellow pianists Zach Brimm and Noah Schepke, who shared this same passion for music and service, we decided to change that. Caring with Keys was born from the belief that music is a form of care, that through the simple act of playing, we can serve others, lift spirits, and ensure that no piano and no community sits in silence.

Noah Schepke

Hi, I'm Noah! I study Biochemistry and Spanish in pursuit of medical school. As a self-taught pianist for ten years, I love sharing my piano improvisation in the OC, other public pianos, and now at assisted living facilities. Inspired by classical, jazz, and pop, I integrate melodies in my head with the atmosphere around me, tuning my style of play for the audience. Helping to create CwK as Secretary has been great, and I'm excited to see the organization grow :)

Zachary Brimm

Vice President

My name is Zachary and I was super excited to take on a leadership role when Christian approached me with the original idea that evolved into Caring with Keys. My major is in psychology, which I'm hoping to use to bring a grounded and person-focused perspective to the team. I've casually practiced piano for about 8 years, and I specialize in jazz-based improvisation. I have some past experience playing in assisted living facilities and I can't wait to give more people the same amazing opportunity! Namaste.
